The Japanese are starting to include green tea as a part of their meals. Even though in Japan the benefits of drinking green tea are well known, they usually drink it for its taste. The three main types off tea, green, black and oolong are all derived from the same plant; they come from Camellia Sinensis. Both the Chinese black and oolong teas have some fermentation done to them.
The green tea is not fermented at all and this gives it the healthy steroid qualities it possesses. Vitamins A, E, C, amino acids, tea-polyphentols and flavonoids can be found in the green tea. L-theanine gives the tea a slightly sweet taste against the more bitter taste of most teas. Aside from this alpha waves inside the brain are increased and cause the formation of a neurotransmitter which is dopamine. Dopamine is almost impossible to get from any source. It's not just the green color and green tea is rather pale in comparison to other teas with a green tinge; it is neither black nor brown; but it's the way in which the tea was made by the manufacturer meaning the lack of termination that gives it the healthy qualities that it has.
