Incorporating Supplements in Body Building Programs

If you are into a body building program, the program will most likely require you to follow strict diet.  In this regard, the use of body building supplements finds great significance. In fact, these supplements are not only used by the body building enthusiasts but by many athletes as well.  These supplements may be used by both beginners and pros in body building provided you have the right prescription.  Aside from the basic protein diets, here are some of the most common forms of these supplements that you can take depending on what part of the body you are developing.

The Creatine
The creatines are protein supplements and probably the most basic bodybuilding supplements that you can take.  It is a compound that supplies more energy to the body which is much needed in muscle trainings.  The most common supplement is the creatine monohydrate.  The creatine is important in improving the muscle lean of the body in a short span of two weeks.  Likewise, most body builders take it in order to hasten the recovery from muscle fatigue and proceed to more intensified training exercises.

The Glutamine
Still another body building supplement that is much needed in intensive trainings is glutamine.  This supplement is a form of an amino acid that can be found in the body's muscle tissues.  It is classified as a conditionally essential amino acid which only means that there could be times when the body's ability to produce glutamine is lesser than the amount that the body actually needs. Glutamine is known for increasing the muscle mass because it helps increase protein synthesis.  It decreases the breakdown of muscles, enhances the immune functions and body recovery ability.

The Meal Replacement Products
The MRPs are usually those pre-packed drink mixes in powder forms. Some are also in the form of edible bars.  These products are very rich in protein and are low in fat content and carbohydrates.  Most body builders prefer to take MRPs because they basically include almost all those that supplements can offer such as the creatine, calcium alpha-ketoglutarate, glutamine, lactoferrin and many others.

The Prohormones

These products serve as a precursor to the hormone testosterone. These prohormones function to convert enzymes to estrogen and DHT.  They are produced synthetically and they are converted to their anabolic phase through the enzymes of the liver.  They increase the testosterone levels in the body and likewise activate the hormones in your body which is needed in most body building activities.
