I was thinking if I should stop my workout while suffering from common cold. It is a common opinion that one should first recover and then move to the gym for any intense workout.
Tell me who doesn't get suffered from a slight cold in the middle of your workout, when you may be working at your peak performance? Even I have experienced such frustrating moments in the past. But on one side you want to continue the workout and on other hand you want to get recovered by providing nutrition to the immune system which will be affected by the workout.
The answer to the above discussed confusion is that you can workout even while you are sick but under some constraints. You should not workout if you are suffering from fever and feeling nauseous.
In addition, if you are prone to infection then avoid going to the public gym. On the other hand, you can workout safely if you are just having a mild cold. If you were suffering from severe cold but now it's not that severe, then also you can move to the gym.
It's not a big deal to workout in a mild cold; rather you will feel better after a light workout. It will open up your blocked nasal passages for easy breathing. Moreover, recovery will not be affected as it is just a mild cold and a light workout is going on just for the sake of continuity.
You will feel a lot better after doing a light cardio workout after recovering from a severe cold. So, the most important thing here is to do a light workout and its better to do cardio instead of using the weights. Researches have shown that doing the cardio while suffering from cold give greatest benefits. Working out with weights doesn't have the same effect. However keep in mind that doing it more than needed can prolong your illness, as it will slow down the recovery process.
One more thing which should be discussed here is about taking a break in your training using legal steroids. Should you take it or not? It is a neglected issue, which can make you stronger by helping you to recover faster and stay in the gym for long time. After doing workouts continuously again and again, the body is always in a breakdown state and at some point, your immune system gets compromised and you fall sick.
By taking a break of 7 days every two months can make you workout better in the gym and make you stronger as well. |
