Breaking up a Ring
The Italian Police broke up a ring that has been supplying steroids and other performance drugs to buyers on a worldwide basis and this includes the soldiers that are Americans currently stationed in Iraq. The United States military gave no comment.

The desire for steroids has been known for a long time because the American soldiers work out in gyms together with contractors in Iraq that are in bases and in the palace’s of Saddam Hussein. The program director for Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation told how steroids were available to whoever wanted them. They were offered to him by a party that looked the part of a peddler.

Two bodybuilders that were from Iraq regularly sold steroids and other things in the building where he was stationed at the time. It has been said that buying drugs in Iraq is just as easy as getting soda pop.

Information from Italy
The police who broke up the ring received their lead from a Post Office located in the northeastern part of Italy when the United States Post Office returned hundreds of packages containing performance drugs and steroids. They had not been addressed right according to the Trieste Police department.

Internet trafficking
Two Slovenians were arrested when an apartment was raided and charged with selling substances that were prohibited. The drugs were found to be ordered over the Internet and the Italian police can only guess that some of the steroids did reach their destination. The steroids were sent to Europe, Australia and North America. The police said that they had many customers around the world.

Something About the Drugs
Some drugs like the derivatives of anabolic steroids are known to inspire aggressiveness. Steroids have many dangerous side effects that are beginning to become known to the public. They cause grave psychological disorders and unwanted physical problems, breasts develop in men, the individuals taking them become cancer prone, mood problems such as mania and a grave, deep depression to name just a few.

There has been a favorite drug in every war, it has been said steroids were given to the German’s to make them more aggressive. American’s were known to take marijuana in Vietnam. Although the Americans are given regular drug tests, they are not tested for steroids. An American Col. said that steroids were not issued for any other purpose then medical.  Despite this, the American soldiers themselves question how some of their fellow men achieved such muscular bodies in a short time and suspect steroids
