Nobody thinks of Stretching
Most people think that to have a really strong, attractive muscular body it takes a lot of work lifting weights, possibility push ups and any exercises that involve pushing or lifting. Cardio exercise and training never enters anyone's mind. It might be thought of if you chose to do some endurance training and would like to loose some fat.
No one thinks of stretching as a rule, its not hard work; no one associates it with the building of strength and if they do stretching it will be after the workout to try and relax the muscles. It can, however, make you stronger. Stretching does not induce pain but has many good effects on the progress of weight lifting. The benefits of stretching are many.
There is an Increase in Strength
Stretching will help you to gain muscular strength by expanding your range of motion. The range of motion that you have developed will apply to your weightlifting exercises. As an example, when you are able to lift with a better range of motion you are getting the benefit of added fibers, which will make your muscles stronger as against a smaller range of motion which is naturally of less benefit.
A Reduction in Stress
Everyone by now knows that stretching will help relieve tension and revitalize tired and overworked muscles. Most people do not know how good stretching is for the body and through a short session, it can reduce most of the tension brought on by a hard day's work.
Posture is improved
If your muscles are not stiff but flexible, your posture will naturally improve. The reason behind this is the stretching will balance your muscle tone and this includes all of the important joints in the body. Your better posture will help reduce all the soreness and stiffness in your muscles, making it easier for the next round of exercises.
You will be Faster with Stretching
One of the most important factors for an athlete to acquire is agility. Every athlete is aware of its importance as it enables him to give a better performance. With the loose muscles, your reactions are going to be faster and more fluid.
Movement is Easier
Everyone, no matter if you are an athlete or not, can benefit from stretching exercises. It will make the average individual's life far easier to cope with and give you a head start in eradicating future joint pain as you age. Since your muscles are less tight, there is less chance of injury in a workout. |
