  Tips For Better Health

Start Your Day Right

The first tip is to always start every day with a good breakfast. This is your energy meal that makes the rest of your day. Make your breakfast using healthful foods like cold or hot cereals, fruit, and milk and usually the kind with less fat is better. Whole grain bread or toast with natural peanut butter, yogurt with fresh fruit, whole grain waffles or pancakes or anything healthy that will start you out with energy.

Exercise

Engage in some activity involving exercise, this will promote your health. Try an extra walk or get on a bike, or go jogging. Taking a half hour a day to do these things before work or school or beginning your daily activities and it will make a difference. In stores use stairs instead of elevators or escalators if at all possible. When at home relaxing take a few minutes for an activity break.

Snacks

When you do snack, do it a little differently. Use dry cereal, graham crackers in either honey or chocolate flavors. Take yogurt or yogurt and fresh fruit, fruit, popcorn without drowning it in butter and salt, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, carbonated fruit juices or mineral water with a natural fruit flavor. There really are a lot of choices if you think about it. Like raw vegetables with a dip or even a plate of breaded, seasoned zucchini squash that has been baked instead of potato chips.

Get Out and Exert Yourself

A little sweat does not hurt anyone and some deep breathing aids the lungs to remain full sized with a good capacity for air and cause the heart to pump better. So some muscle stretching its good for the whole body. Do a few minutes of exercise every day to remain healthy.

Foods to Stay Away From

Choose your foods wisely. Try to eliminate French fries, fast food like cheeseburgers, try not to eat too many potato chips, cake, pie, cookies, ice cream, banana splits, candy, soda etc… In moderation these foods can be had on occasion if you know how to stop.

Try other alternatives such as frozen pops with natural fruit flavor. Make sure you get all of your required vitamins and minerals each day or take supplements. Try and eat more grains and vegetables and include fruit. This type of diet will give you energy along with vitamins and minerals and also provide wholesome fiber. Oatmeal, breads pastas, bagels and pitas are alright.
